*Hands up* if this is you. Honestly, this sums up more days that we’d like to admit. But as days become increasingly busier, well-rounded meals fall to the bottom on the list of priorities - with nutrition paying the price. So when we thought about hosting our first cook with her-people experience, we knew it needed to address these challenges. Recipes needed to be quick, healthy, realistic and tasty.
Week 1: Five Ingredient Dinners
Hosted by Jennifer Bartoli, Co-Founder of Sprig Creative and former Food Editor at Canadian Living. We kick off the evening making our very own mocktails, followed by 2 five ingredient dinners and ending the evening making a simple dessert.
Week 2: Guilt-Free Snacks
Hosted by Francesca Conforti, Women’s Wellness Coach, who will kick off by educating us on why are snacks are important to have on hand, the impact on our blood sugar and why we sometimes get that 'hangry' feeling during PMS. We'll also learn how to stimulate digestion and get into parasympathetic or rest/digest state. Following this, we will spend the rest of the evening working through five stations to make simple and healthy snacks.
Week 3: Packed lunches that actually taste good
Hosted by 10-Year Nutritionist, Idil Farah believes that food is our medicine and the kitchen is our farmacy. The goal of this workshops is to empower you to learn how to make a few healthy, satisfying recipes that tastes good and are good for their overall health. We will focus on 2-3 healthy, quick, plant based flavourful recipes for the workshop.
Week 4: her-pages book club discussion
We will discuss the her-pages read over a moderated discussion led by the community builder, often over a potluck dinner.
Please note that all workshop supplies and materials are included, with the exception of the her-pages book club pick for Week 4. Recipes are vegetarian and primarily plant-based, though may include gluten, dairy and nuts.
